Seed Services, Inc. (MWSS) has announced that it has acquired
ownership of the Agri-Seed Technologies seed testing laboratory.
MWSS has been a member of the Florida Seed Association for the
past two years and is located in Brookings, South Dakota. MWSS
is an ISO9001 certified laboratory, celebrating its tenth year
of serving seed company clients across the country.
Agri-Seed Technologies is staffed by two technologists,
including a registered seed technologist (RST), that have more
than 50 years combined seed testing experience. Many equipment
and technology improvements have been made including a new
vacuum planting system and two additional seed germinators. A
new seed blower which uses a calibrated blowing point for
bahiagrass, was purchased to process samples more efficiently.
An enlarged herbarium is currently being validated for use in
the laboratory. Test results are now available on the website,
www.mwseed.com.
Results can be viewed and reports can be printed from the
customers’ locations.
In order to better serve the southeastern seed industry,
research projects are underway on germination methods for
bahiagrass and an improved peanut vigor test.
