Golden Harvest dealers
representing regions across The J.C. Robinson Seed Company’s
marketing area participated in the Dealer Advisory Council
meeting on March 15, 2002. A total of 18 dealerships attended
with three dealerships represented from each of the Company’s
six sales regions covering the Western Corn Belt. The meeting
was held at the Company’s home office in Waterloo, Nebraska.
"This is one of the more formal ways we get feedback straight
from the selling point of our Golden Harvest products which is
the dealer," Lyn Ramsey, west division director, and event
coordinator, said. "We asked them not only about how we are
doing with various programs and our services, but also what do
we need to be doing."
Company owners and top managers in marketing and sales were
the audience members for the Council. "Overall the dealers were
quite pleased with how we are doing. They gave us a number of
ideas for adjusting and changing programs," Ramsey said. "One
area that continues to be of great interest to our dealers is
learning product information—everything from preparing for
product launch to distributing harvest results."
In addition to the meeting, the dealerships also filled out a
pre-meeting survey on various topics. "Now that we have their
feedback from the survey and the meeting, the information is
being incorporated into our planning as we are mapping out next
year’s marketing plan and each regional business plan," Ramsey
said. "We are committed to providing products and structuring
programs and services that will help customers in each specific
region maximize profits. The dealers told us that they see the
differences by region and like the regional programs tailored
for a local area."
