Nutra-Park signs testing agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection

Madison, Wisconsin
July 19, 2002

Nutra-Park Inc. announced that it has signed a research testing agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection Inc. Under terms of the agreement, Syngenta will perform efficacy tests on high value fruits and vegetables for one year.

The main ingredient in the Nutra-Park product line is LPE (Lysophosphatidylethanolamine), registered with the EPA as a ripening enhancer and shelf life extender of select fruits, vegetables and cut flowers.

The agreement will allow Syngenta to develop synergies that may extend the shelf life of existing  products and to understand a new technology. Additional crops may be added under separate addendum.

Chris Elliott, CEO of Nutra-Park, notes the mutual benefits of this testing agreement. "Working with Syngenta will allow us to test product efficacy on a larger scale and will accelerate commercialization of the LPE product line."

Nutra-Park Inc. develops, manufactures and markets naturally derived products that enhance crop ripening, marketable yield and shelf life of fruits, vegetables and ornamentals. Targeted at agriculture, specialty and fresh produce markets, Nutra-Park's natural products help increase profitability for growers and processors. In 2000, Nutra-Park formed a partnership with Doosan, Inc., a US $3.5 billion global company engaged in the extraction and purification of phospholipids. Headquartered in Madison, Wis., Nutra-Park has 25 employees and anticipates commercial sales in 2002.
