INCOTEC, an
international seed technology company, is now completely
independent. INCOTEC’s management team and the Dutch venture
capitalist company, NeSBIC, have purchased INCOTEC from Seminis.
Each of the INCOTEC facilities worldwide, including the North
American facility in Salinas, will continue with the same
management.
"As an independent company, we will continue our
strategy of providing seed technology to North America. We’re
a research-oriented company, focused on our customer’s
needs," states David Pickenpaugh, General Manager. "INCOTEC
has always been driven by technology development. Our research
teams here in Salinas and in Europe, anticipating the needs of
the market, will provide our customers with the latest
innovations in pelleting, film coating, priming, upgrading and
disinfection against seedborne diseases."
INCOTEC’s new partner, NeSBIC, is a venture capital fund.
They look for long-term gains and specialize in designing and
realizing ambitious growth plans for their investment companies.
NeSBIC will have representation on INCOTEC’s Board of
Directors.
Customer service will continue to be a priority for INCOTEC.
"Our focus is on our customers," Pickenpaugh says.
"We give them what they want, when they want it and in the
form they want it." Customers will continue to deal with
familiar faces in the U.S. Fern LaRose will continue as Sales
Manager and handle sales in the Eastern United States. Sales
consultants Jerry Vosti and Blaise Boyle will service accounts
in the West.
INCOTEC develops and markets seed technologies that improve
the plantability and emergence of vegetable, flower, tobacco and
other agricultural seed. They have production and sales
facilities in Salinas, California, Brazil, Japan, and Enkhuizen,
Holland, where the company headquarters are located. They are
also represented worldwide with sales teams in Italy, Spain,
Israel and Australia.
