Earliness and sweetness reach new heights with this unique melon.  It is the very first melon to have ripe fruit in our trials.   Brix of 15.5 is common, which is at the upper end of all melons for high sugar.

This melon has very special color inside.  Depending on exact maturity, the color can be pale green towards the rind, then white in the middle.  A more mature melon will have a rose colored spot in the middle of the flesh.  When a bit over mature, but at its sweetest stage, there is an orange cavity lining and no green at the rind.

Since the shelf life is relatively short, we continued breeding, and have three more in this outstanding series.

Rind:  Sparse, distinctive netting over green and orange skin

Interior: White fleshed, some green towards the rind if harvested on the early side. When harvested on the late side, may have an attractive rose colored area in the flesh.

Flesh characteristics: Soft, creamy and very sweet.

Shelf life: We do not recommend Dove for long distance shipping, yet the interior keeps its high quality for several days.
