XBEET® - A new generation priming technology for sugar beet seed

XBEET in Europe

Encouraged by the rapid success of XBEET in the USA, the solid independent data set emerging, and the similar economic pressures on the crop, modest trials were put in place in the UK and Europe in 2007 to evaluate its performance under European conditions.

Trials under Continental European conditions

Trials were also conducted in continental Europe through collaboration with SESVANDERHAVE and returned similar field emergence characteristics as in the UK.

Treatment T beet/ha % Sugar % Sugar/ha % White Sugar Yield %
Unprimed 100.9 99.9 100.9 101.0
Advantage 103.0 99.9 102.5 102.4
XBEET® 104.1 100.1 104.3 104.5
*Differences are largely numerical, XBEET showing statistical significance at the P<0.05 level against the unprimed control for root yield, and borderline significance overall on White Sugar Yield at the same level.
