Syngenta announces Root Health Knowledge Pool during 2015 European Root Health Forum

Basel, Switzerland
April 29, 2015

During the 2015 European Root Health Forum (Berlin, March 18-19), Syngenta launched an online Root Health Knowledge Pool to further support scientific research exchange about the link between healthy roots and increased, sustainable crop productivity. The latest Root Health research, including presentations and interviews from Berlin, are now available on this platform, which Syngenta expects will continue to evolve with on-going perspectives from the research community and industry experts.

Both the in-person European Root Health Forum, which significantly expanded in scope since 2012, and the new online Root Health Knowledge Pool illustrate growing worldwide recognition – among researchers and growers – of the still untapped potential for Root Health research discovery and innovation that can postively impact both the quantity and quality of crop yield.

Widening interest in Root Health research shown by Berlin event

While the first European Root Health Forum hosted by Syngenta in 2012 gathered 70 participants from seven countries, 2015 saw 220 technical and industry experts from 26 countries exchange perspective on Root Health, including a delegation organized by Syngenta China.

The range of technical expertise also expanded beyond researcher-focus to include breeders, distributors, retailers and growers. This milestone of wider participation set by the 2015 European Forum builds on the momentum that Syngenta has led by hosting the first global Root Health Forum in 2011 (Miami), a second global Forum in 2013 (Beijing) and 13 previous regional events worldwide.

“Our goal was to initiate valuable scientific and industry peer-to-peer exchange on Root Health that we hope will reach countries across the region,” said Andrea Zanaboni, Syngenta Global Seedcare Asset Manager, EAME Portfolio Lead. “This open dialogue benefits the industry overall and also demonstrates the value of product innovations from Syngenta, such as VIBRANCE® seed treatment.”

Visit the online Root Health Knowledge Pool for worldwide expert perspectives

The Root Health Knowledge Pool, launched during the 2015 European Root Health Forum, includes links to peer-reviewed journals and articles, as well as video interviews and scientific movies of interest to researchers and other industry colleagues.

It gives easy access to the Root Health scientific information collected from worldwide interaction hosted by Syngenta over the last three years – i.e. through the global and regional Root Health Forums, the Global Root Health Network on LinkedIn® and on-going collaborative research.

Researchers are welcome to submit research or share interesting articles related to Root Health from their regions and fields of work in order to make more worldwide perspectives visible and contribute to the on-going sustainable crop productivity effort. Contact: Melanie.Goll@syngenta.com
