Bayer CropScience recently announced a 20 percent price reduction on Ignite® herbicide. The price adjustment brings the cost of a single application of Ignite down to approximately $8 to $10 per acre instantly creating additional value for Stine’s already popular LibertyLink® soybean line-up.
The LibertyLink seed-herbicide system, powered by Ignite, is the only non-selective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant soybeans currently on the market. LibertyLink soybeans allow growers to enjoy many of the same benefits of a glyphosate-tolerant soybean system, such as less tillage, labor and equipment, along with the ease, convenience and efficiency of faster-acting, non-selective weed control.
“The LibertyLink system has proven itself to be a great alternative for soybean growers, especially in areas where glyphosate-resistant weeds are a concern,” says David Thompson, National Marketing and Sales Director for Stine Seed Company. “The unique combination of great genetics with no yield drag or lag, powerful weed control and an enhanced system cost makes Stine LibertyLink soybeans the perfect fit for performance and profits.”
Stine was a premier marketing partner in the launch of LibertyLink soybeans in 2009 and currently offers 22 different LibertyLink soybeans, with several lines still available for the 2010 planting season.
“No other seed company offers more LibertyLink soybeans, in a wider range of maturities, than Stine,” says Thompson. “Stine LibertyLink soybeans represent some of the highest-yielding, top performing genetics on the market, and the system cost reduction creates an incredible value proposition for growers.”
