National Sales and Product Development (S&PD) Manager

Location: Western part of Gauteng

Hazera Seeds South Africa, part of the International Vegetable seed group, Limagrain, is based in Johannesburg and is currently looking for a highly motivated National Sales and Product Development (S&PD) Manager, to be based in the western part of Gauteng. The successful applicant will need to translate the national S&PD strategy into regional sales plans and execute it through the regional S&PD teams.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture would be beneficial
  • Experience in Agricultural product sales & marketing a plus
  • 5 years’ experience in people management

This position requires a strong business leader who is able to empower the Sales & PD Team to ensure the short and long term business goals are being met. You will need to be able to achieve the day to day sales targets while focusing on innovative product development plans to meet future market demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Sales Budget
  • Manage and implement the sales team's performance targets
  • Coach & coordinate the team to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Develop a high performance culture in the sales team
  • Grow the business and market share through strong and effective management
  • Maintain strong relationships with important stakeholders
  • Reporting and presenting sales budgets to senior management
  • Keep updated on changes within the market
  • Interpret market changes to steer the Product Development activities
  • Developing and implementing appropriate policies, procedures and systems
  • Identify & lead development areas for the S&PD team
  • Coordinate regional & national meetings
  • Work in conjunction with the relevant departments, i.e. Finance and Logistics to ensure streamlined processes
  • Frequent National travelling necessary. Occasional international travel
