Mid-West Seed Services, Inc.
is an independent, privately-held seed testing and quality
consulting service, established in 1993.
We
test a wide variety of species, including corn, soybeans, sunflowers,
sorghum, alfalfa, cereals, vegetables, flowers, and grasses.
Our testing services include:
- warm and cold germination
- saturated cold
- accelerated aging
- electrical conductivity
- soak test
- herbicide trait testing is available
for Roundup Ready crops, STS soybeans, IMI (ALS) corn, and
Liberty-Link crops. If the sample exceeds the maximum non-trait
percentage, an additional 400 seeds are automatically retested at no
additional cost to the client.
- ELISA testing services include Bt and
corn rootworm traits for corn.
- purity and all-states noxious exams
are commonly conducted on grass, cereal, and legume seed.
- ungerminated seeds are routinely
checked for seed dormancy following the normal germination period.
This ensures the viability status of these ungerminated seeds.
Research
services are also available, as well as workshops.
Fast turn-around for results is our
trademark. Seeds are planted the same day they are received. Results are
faxed to clients the same day they are out, and can be mailed or
e-mailed, too. Free sample bags are available to our clients.
