Where do you see the seed industry going
in the next 5 to 10 years? |
 |
For South Africa, the right ingredients
are there and the appropriate corner stones in place. The
future lies in continuing to serve the local mature market,
but, more so, to trade internationally, and setting up
agencies off-shore. To what extent this will be successful,
depends upon individual and collective entrepreneurial spirit.
The markets will become increasingly
globalized; hence, without global partnerships a local company
will battle to survive. The future will be technologically and
legally complex, with consumerism and socio-political factors
complicating trade.
There is no reason why the South
African seed industry should not be a successful regional and
global roleplayer. |
