Wynand J. VAN DER WALT - SANSOR, South Africa

March 2002

What important lessons have you learned during your years in the seed industry?
My experience over 35 years in the seed industry has basically served to reinforce my own value systems, namely, that there is no substitute for honesty, integrity and fair dealing in substainable business.

In the seed industry this needs to be coupled with an ongoing quest for raising quality standards. This requires disciplined management of all four basic assets of an enterprise.

All SANSOR members must sign a code of ethical practice and it is the responsibility of the industry to ensure adherence to the code.
