Agristar
celebrates 45 years of doing business during 2003. We have
come a long way since 1958 when John Hornemann started the
business as L. Daehnfeldt Ltda to import and distribute the
seed of that Danish company.
In 1970, John was one of the founders of ABCSEM, our
Brazilian seed association, which is still fighting in our
industry's behalf.
I joined the company in 1980, leaving Petoseed
Brasileira, and never looked back.
To mention some Agristar milestones:
1977 - first F1’s from Japan
1988 - first precision planters imported to promote use of
F1 carrots
1992 - first F1 melons
1993 - first to pellet seed in Brazil
1995 - first commercial F1’s carrots
