What role does
the public seed sector play in the Asia Pacific region and how
does it interface with the private sector?

The public
seed sector is still strong in a few countries such as
Cambodia,
China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar and
Vietnam, but
privatization has already caught up with and taken over in the
majority of the countries.
It is good that in a number of
countries, the public and private seed sectors have started
playing a complementary instead of a competitive role.
