The Asian &
Pacific Seed Association (APSA), a brainchild of the
Food and
Agriculture Organization, was born in 1994 to promote the
cause of quality seed production and marketing in the
Asia-Pacific region.
During past the eight years, APSA has been instrumental in
revolutionizing the seed industry in this region.
Seed trade in terms of volume and turnover increased due to
market information generated and provided by APSA to its
members. In addition, visits and training arranged by APSA
have helped in increasing interaction. As a result,
privatisation has increased and seed industry in the region
has become organised. . |
