How do you see the seed testing
sector evolving in the next 5 to 10 years? |
 |
Seed testing
will continue to get more complicated, yet more standard.
There will be a need for faster techniques that are yet more
accurate than ever. I also see a push for testing techniques
that analyze several parameters of seed quality in one test.
Accurate methods that are nondestructive are also in high
demand, yet the technology is not quite at that point.
I also think that seed testing
companies will consolidate. The testing is more complicated,
multi-faceted and requires highly sensitive equipment that can
process a large number of samples at a time. To offer services
to the large conglomerate seed companies, seed testing
companies must be able to have resources to quickly supply
their clients with a more sophisticated service.
