What do you
prize and enjoy most about being a seedsman? |
 |
What I prize and
enjoy most about the flower seed industry are the people I
work with. Overall, the people who choose to work in flowers
are nice people, and because we are a small industry we all
know each other. I enjoy coming to work and interacting with
my coworkers, because I enjoy them as people.
We have a
culture at Goldsmith Seeds of the employees being like family,
and that extends to the outside people we work with as well,
especially our customers.
Another reason for this is that we get along with our
competitors, for the most part, which adds to the positive
atmosphere. We spend as much, if not more, time and effort
trying to increase the overall use of flowers as we do trying
to take business away from each other. The bedding plant
market is still relatively young, and I have seen it grow and
expand tremendously in my years in the business. We understand
as well that future growth is what we all need to continue
building on our past successes. |
