How is the venture
funded, and how does it operate? |
 |
SunPrime is
a private company, accountable to a Board of Directors
appointed by the three shareholders. The business has two
sources of income, seed margins and revenue generated from
‘End Point Royalties’ (EPR) - growers enter into a contractual
arrangement with the breeder/licensee when purchasing seed,
the contract requires growers to declare crop production
details after harvest and pay an EPR per tonne of grain
produced directly to the breeder/licensee of the variety.
Our product development strategy is
based on the company’s assessment of market opportunities
(quality and agronomic) and consideration of our capability to
produce varieties for each production region with competitive
yield and quality improvements as well as improved
pest/disease resistance. |
