The main issue is that most markets are saturated.
We have reached a peak in all industrialized countries and
have cannibalized the markets by introducing better varieties,
which increase yields and cause the growers to use fewer
seeds.
Seed companies did not compensate for that loss of seed usage
and were left with too much inventory and a loss of sales.
Most companies did not make any money in the past few years.
Most companies are aware of this problem and are taking active
roles in compensating for this drop of consumption of seeds. |
