Like most of
its competitors, Sakata is keen on intellectual property. Why
are strong intellectual property laws important for seed
companies? |
 |
- Protect the significant investment made by seed
companies in developing new improved varieties, product
development, product marketing & sales.
- If IPR protection is not available, then seed companies
would be unwilling to invest in research for new products
and in market development. We all know it takes 7 years or
more to develop a new variety & commercialize it.
- It provides more order & stability in an already complex
industry.
