Beck’s Hybrids launches new yield enhancement system

.

Atlanta, Indiana
June 29, 2009

Beck’s Hybrids announced today that it is launching its newest innovation of seed coating called the Escalate™ yield enhancement system. Escalate is a proprietary mix of yield enhancing products that come standard on all Beck’s seed to improve stands, seedling health, and yield. Escalate is included in the price of Beck’s seed and provides additional yield benefit compared to untreated seed.

Sonny Beck, President of Beck’s Hybrids, explains, “Escalate is the latest in Beck’s long history of industry leading premium seed enhancements and coatings. Beck’s has evaluated seed treatment products since their early beginnings, however, in 1996, Becks was the first to introduce a complete seed coating system to the soybean market called Sure Gro™. In 2001, Beck’s was the first company to provide a seed applied insecticide system called FaSTart™ as standard in every bag of corn. In 2004, Beck’s was the first to make the revolutionary Sure Gro protection system standard in every bag of soybeans. Once again, Beck’s Hybrids will lead the industry in combining the unique yield enhancing properties of Escalate and making it standard on every unit of Beck corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa.”

Escalate enhances yields by providing systemic and effective control of many common seedling diseases and early season insects affecting corn, soybeans, and wheat. With Escalate, growers can plant crops earlier to maximize yield potential and still have protection from many common pests. Since Escalate is a complete fungicide and insecticide package, growers will save time, money, and avoid seed degradation and quality issues associated with third party over-treating just prior to planting. In addition, Escalate often eliminates the need for some early season foliar insecticides.

“We are very excited about the yield enhancing properties of Escalate”, says Scott Beck, Vice President of Beck’s Hybrids. “We are seeing over 12 bushels per acre in corn, more than 4 bushels per acre in soybeans, and 4 to 7 bushels per acre yield advantage in wheat compared to untreated seed, depending on environmental conditions and location. The Escalate yield enhancement system provides better emergence, seedling health, and insect control, while offering growers flexibility, peace of mind, convenience, and higher yields”, says Scott Beck.

Beck's Hybrids is a family-owned and operated seed company that serves farmers in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. According to a recent media survey, Beck's ranks as the sixth largest seed company in the United States and the only one in the top six that is family-owned, making Beck's the largest retail, family-owned seed company in the United States.

Escalate, FaSTart and SureGro are trademarks of Beck’s Hybrids.
