New field guide for Soybean Cyst Nematode management available from Iowa State University Extension

.

Ames, Iowa
November, 2008

Knowing how to recognize and manage soybean cyst nematode is the sole focus of a new pocket guide authored by Iowa State University Extension Nematologist Greg Tylka, in partnership between Iowa State University and the Iowa Soybean Association.

The 56-page pocket guide details management of soybean cyst nematode, which is the leading economic pest of soybean in Iowa. This new publication will be available for Iowans at no cost from ISU Extension offices by Thanksgiving week, or can be ordered now directly from the extension online store by ordering publication CSI 12 - Soybean Cyst Nematode Management Field Guide.

This spiral-bound booklet is a handy reference to the history, identification, development and management of soybean cyst nematode in Iowa. It is the latest addition to the field guide series that includes the following:

CSI-10 Soybean Disease and Pest Management (being reprinted, to be available in December)
CSI-11 Soybean Aphid Management 2008
CSI-15 Speed Scouting Soybean Aphids

CSI-11 and CSI-15 are currently available from the Extension online store and county extension offices.
