Dan
Swalla joined Renze
Hybrids, Inc. as sales and marketing manager today. Swalla
comes to Renze with 32 years of seed industry experience
including 30 years with Garst Seed Company and its predecessors.
“We are thrilled to have Dan on our team at Renze,” remarked Tim
Renze, general manager of the family-owned company located near
Carroll, Iowa. “As Renze positions itself to grow our sales and
territory, Dan will provide valuable insight, skills, and
passion for this industry as well as our customers’ success.”
During his time with Garst, Swalla held titles including
regional manager, supply manager, field services manager,
national sales manager, regional and district sales manager,
data processing manager, and worked in IT. He also served as
operations manager for Midwest Seed Genetics.
“Adding a seed industry veteran of such high caliber to our
staff as sales and marketing manager is one more indication of
our intention to grow at Renze,” stated Craig Williams,
operations manager. “Dan will help develop our strategy to
expose the secret that is Renze seed.”
Having lived in Carroll County for years, Swalla has known about
Renze and appreciates the company’s spotless reputation. “I know
this is a good company and one of my goals is to help them
grow,” Swalla said. “In today’s seed industry, companies like
Renze with great product lines need to grow to succeed. That
means more customers planting their products, achieving better
results.”
Swalla and his wife, Sheryl, reside in Coon Rapids and are the
parents of four grown children. They also have four
grandchildren. When he’s not working, Swalla enjoys outdoor
activities of all kinds, particularly hunting, fishing, camping,
and gardening.
Renze is located near Carroll, Iowa, and was founded by Joe
Renze in 1939. Cyril Renze, Joe’s son, is still active in the
business and celebrated his 82nd birthday on May 30. Tim and
Jeff Renze represent the third generation of the family working
