Large Scale Biology Corporation (Nasdaq:LSBC) will undertake
new funded research for Growers Research Group LLC (GRG) under a
new contract announced today. LSBC and GRG announced a previous
deal related to lysozyme material on June 27, 2002. LSBC and GRG
have been collaborative partners under other contracts for more
than two years, and now expect to develop novel antimicrobial
products for plant protection purposes through the application
of LSBC's proprietary GENEWARE(R) technology. Financial details
were not disclosed.
Richard Smith, Managing member of GRG, called the contract "an
important further step in Growers Research Group's productive
partnership with LSBC and its unique team of scientists."

Growers Research Group, LLC is a private company whose
members are a consortium of California agribusiness concerns,
organized for the purpose of conducting research for the
protection, promotion and development of agriculture and for the
commercial application of the results of that research.
