December 9, 1998Great Lakes Hybrids, a national seed corn company
based in Ovid, Michigan, announces the addition of Jeff Reinbold as district sales
manager. Reinbold will cover the lower eastern area of Michigan.
Reinbold spent 20 years in retail sales of agricultural products including seed,
fertilizer, chemicals and services, with 15 of those years as a manager. He worked for
Terra for 13 years prior to joining Great Lakes Hybrids. He also spent five years at
Sohigro, which was purchased by Terra in 1985, and two years at Star of the West
Milling Co.
A certified crop advisor since 1995, Reinbold grew up on a farm east of Saginaw - Reinbold
Bros. - now in operation as Reinow Acres. He serves as a board member and represents the
agricultural sector of the Partnership for the Saginaw Bay Watershed, an environmental
program
that evolved from the EPA initiative regarding the Saginaw Bay and its rivers and
tributaries and ground water issues.
Reinbold graduated from Michigan State University with certification in farm supply
management. He is involved in his church, and helps coach the Frankenmuth High School
varsity football team. He lives in Saginaw with his wife, Terry, and three daughters:
Ryan, a high school senior; Danielle, a high school freshman; and Leah, a seventh-grader.
Great Lakes Hybrids is affiliated with KWS in Germany, a seed-only company, and has
research stations in Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and Puerto Rico. This research
program has been able to produce top performing conventional genetics for incorporation of
the new transgenic
