POSITION: Team Leader, Marker-Assisted Breeding

Job description:
Rasi Seeds seeks for a team
leader to take a lead position in Marker-Assisted Breeding.
The leader will supervise and lead the team on molecular
breeding activities in cotton, rice and vegetable crops. The
team operates across breeding and biotech disciplines on
integrated discovery approaches combining genetics,
molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics. The major
activities will be:
- Plan and design
molecular / trait breeding activities in rice, cotton
and vegetable crops
- Manage molecular /
trait breeding projects from initiation to delivery of
readily-usable breeding material or trait-specific
genetic information and ensure proper project
advancement within allocated resources and timelines
- Maintain awareness of
new development of new technologies or methodologies as
appropriate
- Coordinate project
execution with relevant groups such as plant breeding,
molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and genotyping
laboratories
- Secure intellectual
property protection as appropriate and maintain
awareness of intellectual property landscape and
evolutions
- Report project
progress and achievements and ensure appropriate
technical and business reviews as well as portfolio
consolidation
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
The candidate should have
Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology or related field with
experience in plant breeding and molecular biology for over
5 years; must be below 40 years age. Advanced knowledge in
genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics and genomics are
desired.
- Knowledge of breeding
principles in different crops, genetics, molecular
markers, and genomics principles is essential
- Excellent
organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
are required
- Practical knowledge in
molecular techniques including micro arrays, gene
sequencing and others
- Demonstrated project
leadership and management experience is essential
- Demonstrated technical
or scientific successes in molecular/trait breeding are
desirable
- Experience in
agricultural statistics will be advangeous
