Syngenta Seeds is opening up to ten positions for scientists to
lead molecular and trait breeding research in field and
vegetable crops. Successful applicants will work with
interdisciplinary and multicultural teams at developing
commercial cultivars with superior performance, through the
discovery and implementation of trait-specific genetic
information, and the development and mobilization of innovative
technology-based breeding approaches

Data Analysts.
Job location: Toulouse, France
Job description :
-
Support
discovery, validation and implementation of genetic
information for breeding purposes. In this context, the
genetic data analyst assists project leaders with the
analysis of data in the areas of forward and reverse
genetics.

Participate in the data mining and analysis team, the
evaluation, selection, improvement, and/or development of
tools and protocols to optimize data analysis processes.

Participate in the definition of projects, retrieve data
from data repositories, analyze data, interpret data,
deposit results in relevant databases, conduct
cross-referencing of project analysis results and external
published data, communicate and present results and/or
conclusions.
Required
Skills and Experience :
-
Master
with experience in the area.
-
Excellent
knowledge of and experience with statistical tools, methods
involved in genetic information applications, breeding
theory and Mendelian genetics
-
Thorough
understanding of genotyping systems, in particular SSR’s and
SNP’s, of genomics tools and approaches, including
expression profiling, genome sequencing, BACs, DNA chips,
tilling arrays, etc.

Excellent
interpersonal skills, fluency in English, autonomy
