Harris Moran is
recruiting for a Breeding/Production Assistant for
Nickerson-Zwaan, a world leader in onion breeding.
Nickerson-Zwaan, along with sister companies Harris Moran,
Vilmorin, and Clause-Tezier, and Hazera Genetics are members of
Groupe Limagrain, one of the world’s largest seed companies.

growth. We currently have an opening for a Breeding/Production
Assistant – Onion located in Treasure Valley, Idaho.
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but
are not limited to:

Preparing and
maintaining of onion trial fields
-
Evaluating
onion hybrid trials in the field
-
Evaluating
onion bulbs during the storage season
-
Planting bulbs
and maintaining of onion breeding cages
-
Organizing and
participating with the onion seed harvest
-
Responsible
for data entry and maintenance of breeding program database
-
Contracting,
in coordination with the Nickerson-Zwaan Production
Department, stock seed and commercial seed productions in
and outside of Idaho
-
Preparing,
arranging and following these productions, including
threshing and shipment of seed
Qualifications:
-
BS in Ag
science, horticulture, or related discipline preferred
-
2-3 years seed
industry experience
-
Must be able
to endure long periods outdoors in warm climates
Skills required:
-
Requires
excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Working
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
-
Ability to
travel domestically and internationally.
