Breeder, Fresh Market Tomato

Location:
Davis, California
The primary responsibilities for this position include,
but are not limited to:

Development of competitive,
commercial tomato varieties for targeted markets

Germplasm development
-
Effective management of
resources and staff
-
Creative use of plant
pathology and molecular marker support functions
-
Leadership role in
introduction of new products
Qualifications:
-
Requires minimum of MS Degree
in related discipline and 3-5 years experience in plant
breeding, or PhD and equivalent training.

Strong field orientation
-
Experience in seed industry is
desirable.
-
Fluency in Spanish a plus
Skills required:
-
Must possess good
interpersonal skills.
-
Effective oral and written
communication skills.
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Excel, and Access database management
-
Ability to travel domestically
and internationally.
