In this role the GREENHOUSE SUPERVISOR will manage all
greenhouse activities which includes personnel supervision,
training, scheduling and accurate reporting of routine testing,
assure productivity, and proper operation/maintenance of
greenhouse equipment and facilities. In this role the candidate
will support and lead the development and implementation of new
technologies in the area of automation, imaging, and greenhouse
improvement.
Additional responsibilities/objectives:

Personnel Management of greenhouse personnel
- Quality – Assures consistency, reliability and credibility
of results.
- Productivity - Assure quantity of output
- Cost – works with vendors regarding greenhouse supplies
- Innovation and continuous improvement of current processes
and new technologies.
- Safety – leads and sees that all environmental, safety and
health requirements are met.
The successful candidate will
possess an MS degree in Horticulture or related discipline with
2 years experience in greenhouse/nursery management and an
emphasis on technical improvement and greenhouse automation or
BS degree in related field with 5 years experience or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Occasional travel is
required. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and
written communication skills essential. Demonstrated supervisory
abilities are critical. Knowledge of seed testing methods, ISTA
and/or AOSA rules, seed testing equipment and facilities
preferred.
