POSITION:
Testing and
Operations Manager
Location: Arlington, Wisconsin
Monsanto Company, based in
St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading global provider of
technology-based solutions & agricultural products that improve
farm productivity & food quality.
We are seeking a highly motivated
individual with the ability to work as a member of a
multidisciplinary breeding team in Arlington, Wisconsin, which
will process hybrid seed for Monsanto Testing & packet/set up
Pre-Commercial experiments.
In this role the candidate will
have the following responsibilities:

Ensure
that site staff is trained in all ESH procedures, regulatory
& compliance protocols, & business conduct protocols

Oversee
all day-to-day operations of the testing program as well as
the general operations at the multifunction site.

Maintain
the site responsibility matrix to ensure efficient workflow
& work load balancing

Manage
the open-pollinated inbred crossing blocks if any are
assigned to the site

Acquire &
maintain adequate facilities & equipment for effective &
efficient functioning of all programs

Oversee a
yield-testing program, which will lead to the development of
improved inbred lines & the advancement of superior hybrids
and traits targeted to the site's geographical area of
responsibility

Administer a yield-testing program including the recruiting,
training, development & retention of personnel as well as
budget management.
The successful candidate will
possess an MS in Agronomy Plant Breeding, or related field w/3+
yrs. of significant people & project management exp. in an
agricultural-related research position or BS in an agricultural
field & 8+ yrs. of significant people & project management exp.
in an agricultural-related position. Must have a broad knowledge
of crop production & farming practices as well as farm equipment
operation & repair. Req's demonstrated team leadership skills &
excellent organizational & record keeping skills. The ability to
write & speak English fluently, & have excellent communication &
interpersonal skills are req'd. Working knowledge of statistics
& experimental design along with computer skills related to data
acquisition, organization, & data analysis are essential. Must
have a Class A CDL or have the ability to obtain one. May be
called on to work at an MSP site for a 3 week period in the
January.
