Virologist position.
Job
responsibilities
-
Coordinate with breeders to plan and execute virology
research programs on priority crops.
-
Associate
in screening programs to develop appropriate technologies
related for identifying resources of resistance to viruses.
-
Maintenance of laboratory, glasshouse and greenhouses
relevant to virology experiments and breeding programs.
-
Developing innovative methods in disease resistance
research.
-
Collaboration with breeders, biotechnologies for advancing
the new traits.
-
Use of
modern techniques.
-
Isolate,
Identify and make cultures of plant viruses of priority
crops.
-
Conducting field trials, data collection and analysis and
preparing summary reports.
Essential
qualifications
-
M Sc or
Ph D degree in Pathology with specialization in virology.
-
2-3 years
of relevant experience in conducting virology research.
-
Highly
motivated to achieve targets with in stipulated time frame.
-
Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Good
analytical ability to assess the results and develop a
viable research program.
