POSITION:
Administrative
/ Logistics Assistant
Based in El Campo, Texas, the
BioScience business of
Bayer CropScience is building its Hybrid Rice organization.
As an Administrative /
Logistics Assistant with Bayer's Hybrid Rice team, you will
play an integral part in our business process. You will provide
administrative support for the establishment and advancement of
a Hybrid Rice enterprise and be directly accountable for
maintaining logistics systems and ensuring that daily logistic
functions for all seed activities (foundation and hybrid) are
administered in a timely and effective manner. You will be
responsible for general local administrative support of the
Breeding and Development team.
More specifically, you will
assist with and support the following:
- Provide administrative
support to the Seed Production Manager and extensive
interaction with staff in Breeding, Parent Seed Production
and Hybrid seed production, Sales, Financial & Accounting,
and Marketing
- Coordinate logistic
administration for all inventory from the field to the
processor, processor to warehouse, warehouse to sales
- Work closely with internal
customers from Bayer Supply Chain, Breeding and Development,
and Sales and Marketing Staff in El Campo, as well as North
America supply chain staff based out of Research Triangle
Park, NC, SAP administrators, IT department and Finance
department, as well as external customers, seed growers,
chemical fertilizer suppliers, custom pollinators, custom
applicators, suppliers, service providers, trucking firms,
hybrid seed distributors, H2A employees, employment service
employees and industry colleagues
- Along with the team at El
Campo, become the face of BioScience business to the Hybrid
Rice industry
- Support Operations via SAP
accounting, bill processing, ordering and receiving
- Maintain applications,
records, hiring logs, time cards, and payment to temporary
or season employees obtained through Employment Services.
- Training, documentation,
and record keeping for QHSE
- Provide payments due
within hybrid rice seed contracts for growers and processors
- SAP
coding/tracking/accounting of expenditures
- Establishment,
maintenance, update, and control of foundation seed rice
(A-line) inventory and hybrid rice (A x R) inventory
- Oversight and
documentation of processing, conditioning, and treating of
hybrid rice seed
- Writing of process flow
diagrams for internal usage
- Writing, evaluating, and
implementing standard operating procedures for internal
usage to comply with QMP
- Prepare complex reports
and presentations
- Arrange
meetings/conferences/travel
- Draft correspondence
Position Requirements
- A two-year technical
certificate in Business Administration, or equivalent
relevant work experience preferably in Inventory Management
operations or administration.
- Minimum 5 years experience
in administration including inventory management, ordering,
receiving, distribution, personnel management, and ability
to learn process skills as required
- Be familiar with the seed
industry especially issues related to seed production
- Proven ability to
coordinate and prioritize the workload of multiple
activities, while maintaining a high level of customer
service in a complex environment.
- The ability to resolve
problems by drawing on own knowledge and experience and
calling on other references and resources as necessary.
- The ability to demonstrate
attention to detail to achieve quality results.
- Extensive data entry
skills along with strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
LotusNotes skills
- Excellent written and
verbal communications skills
- Good analytical skills in
monitoring data
- Excellent team oriented
skills
- Ability to multi-task and
work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think and work
independently and to take a lead role in solving basic
queries and problems as they arise
Preferred Requirements
- SAP experience
- Bilingual with Spanish
language skills
