POSITION:
Research Farm
Supervisor
Location: Northern
California (Woodland area)
Summary: The position supervises the day to day
activities on a vegetable seed research farm
Essential Accountabilities
1.
Supervises the day to day activities of the farm, including,
but not limited to, field preparation, planting, all
cultural activities, harvest and post harvest operations, as
directed by the Research Farm Mgr.
2. Maintains all equipment, buildings and grounds at the
farm facility.
3 Supervises greenhouse activities, including planting and
growing transplants.
4. Supervises temporary, seasonal employees in field and
greenhouse work.
5. Assists the Research Farm Manager in preparing and
implementing capital and expense budgets.
6. Maintains accurate temporary time sheets and records.
7. Assists Farm Mgr. in Field Worker Safety program
8. Assists Farm Mgr. in pesticide applications and record
keeping.
Qualifications and Requirements
•
Bachelor degree in an agricultural science with row crop
farming experience.
• Business management experience or formal course work
preferred.
• Pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one is
required.
• Valid California driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
