Research Associate
Job location: St. Louis, Missouri
Monsanto, an Ag industry
leader creating scientific breakthroughs around the world, seeks
a highly motivated individual to work as a member of the North
America Commercial Corn Breeding Team and as a liaison with our
IT dept.
Primary responsibilities include
setting up pre-commercial yield trial sets, reviewing data
quality, running analysis, and creating multi-season nursery
sets using Monsanto's proprietary breeding software. The
candidate will also be responsible for evaluating new
applications and software features and supporting their
implementation by Breeding. Additionally, the candidate will
involve providing feedback to IT based on direct use and input
received from Breeding station personnel.
The successful candidate will possess a BS in Ag-related field,
Biology, or Computer Science. A background managing data in MS
Access and Excel is required. Individual must have exhibited
excellent attention to detail and shown excellent organizational
skills. The ability to write and speak English fluently, and
have excellent communication (verbal and written) and
interpersonal skills are essential. A working knowledge of plant
breeding seasonal workflows and activities would be highly
desirable. Experience writing VBA macros or SQL queries would be
a plus.
