This position provides technical agronomic expertise and
supervision of hybrid canola seed production including
contracting with growers, planting, field scouting, rogueing,
harvesting, conditioning, treating, distribution, and
implementation of quality assurance measures. This position will
also perform special projects for CSCO (Cargill Specialty Canola
Oils) Seed Department which may require travel to Canada,
Mexico, and Chile.
The position is located in Idaho
Falls, Idaho.
Principal Accountabilities:
50%
Contract with growers to produce hybrid canola seed and
provide season long agronomic support.
10%
Conduct special projects aimed at developing methods to
improve seed yields and enhance seed quality.
15%
Participate in implementation of quality assurance program
for hybrid canola seed from planting to distribution of
finished product.
15%
Perform miscellaneous job duties associated with hybrid seed
production. Examples include: equipment repair and
modification, operation of seed conditioning/treating
equipment, training and management of rogueing crews, budget
management, etc.

Perform agronomic support activities associated with special
CSCO projects such as contraseason production, commercial
production in Mexico, Beta-glucan barley, etc.
Qualifications
Required:
• 4 year post-secondary education in Agronomy or other
Agriculture related degree
• 2 years agribusiness experience
• Proven agronomy skills
• Demonstrated effective communication and listening skills
• Active Certified Consulting Agronomist (CCA) status or
ability to obtain CCA
• Excellent computer skills
• Valid driver's license

• Seed experience preferred
