Regional
Plant Science Manager
(India, Africa, South East Asia)
Based in Thailand
OUR CLIENT
Our
client is a global producer of biodiesel, based in Europe,
and their vision is to be the world’s leading biodiesel
organization.
They are building a global team and network to deliver
sustainable oil supply and programs. Their operations cover
agronomy, refining and trading. They are the pioneers of the
industry and leading in Scientific research and
technologies, planting and production of inedible vegetable
oils. They develop, operate and market biodiesel refineries;
and source, transport and trade seed and seedlings,
seedcakes, crude vegetable oils and biodiesel.
THE POSITION
The
purpose of the role as Regional Plant Science Manager,
India, Africa, South East Asia is to manage the product
placement, Agronomy Research and Multiplication activities
of the organization and steering the operations of the
regional Sustainable Oil Supply Programs. The role will
report operationally to the Regional Agronomy Director and
functionally to the Global Plant Science and Agronomy
Director.
Key
Responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

Regional management of the product placement activities
for the organization’s products.

Operational planning and implementation, consistent data
collection and interpretation and product positioning.

Regional management of the agronomy research activities.
-
Implementation of regionally assigned projects, allocate
projects to research and development centres and a
system to present, agree on and share experimental
results.
-
Regional management of tissue culture and seed based
multiplication activities, including the planning and
consistent inventory management, quality management and
regional logistics of seed movement.
-
Translation of agronomy research and multiplication
results into regional/local ‘agronomy manuals’.
-
Overall budget responsibility for above activities in
the region.
-
Overall responsibility for the Safety, Health and
Environmental policies in the region for Agronomy
activities of the organization.
THE REQUIREMENTS
-
At least
10-15 years experience base in a commercial seed or
horticulture business environment, with product development,
agronomy research and product multiplication activities.
-
Masters
or PhD in Biology or Agronomy or related fields
-
On the
ground experience in commercial seed product development
activities.
-
Training
in quality management and inventory management systems is an
added advantage.
-
Detailed
knowledge in Agronomy and multiplication techniques.
-
Project
Management skills.
-
Multilingual.
-
Good
knowledge in quality management systems in
seed/horticultural multiplication environment.
-
Experience with managing regional, multifunctional teams
both at an operational level.
