POSITION:  NutriDense Forage Specialist II (WI, IL, IA, MN)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Job description

The NutriDense® Forage Specialist will be a member of the NutriDense sales team within the BASF Plant Science organization. This team performs critical activities necessary to advance BPS's plant breeding and biotechnology projects from idea to marketplace as fast and effectively as possible. The sales teams focus on promoting value chain coordination and the nutritional value of our products in the marketplace.

The NutriDense Forage Specialist responsibilities will cover the territory of WI, IL, IA, MN and will include:

  1. Facilitate the sale of hybrid seed corn containing the NutriDense silage traits to and through relationships with key re-sellers, which include retail distribution companies as well as seed companies.
  2. Provide support to key re-sellers including education on the products, sales support and training on NutriDense silage hybrids, ensuring that re-sellers have necessary sales materials, and conducting on-farm grower calls.
  3. Interact with key dairy personnel/management to promote the benefit and use of hybrids containing NutriDense in dairy feed rations.
  4. Interact with key dairy influencers, especially feed companies and nutritionists, to educate them on NutriDense silage and gain their endorsement/advocacy for the use of silage hybrids with NutriDense.
  5. Coordinate with BPS Nutrition Personnel to support silage opportunities.
  6. Prepare and execute key account strategies to ensure alignment of goals and objectives between BPS, the Channel Partner and the Channel Partners sales force.

Skills

Required: 1. BA/BS in Agriculture or other relavant discipline. 2. 5 Years industry experience (livestock/feeding background with experience relative to forages / silage), and including at least one of the following: a. Seed Industry Experience b. Working with top-tier growers c. Agricultural Sales Experience 3. Track record of strong relationship management skills 4. Must be comfortable with risk 5. Must be entrepreneurial 6. Willing to travel BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
