POSITION:
Operations
Manager
Seminis Vegetable Seeds, a division of
Monsanto and an Ag
industry leader, is creating scientific breakthroughs around the
world & has an opening for a motivated OPERATIONS MANAGER in the
Oxnard, California area.
In this role the candidate will be reporting to the Director of
Operations and will lead and manage operations associated with
our Seed Conditioning, Treating and Packaging departments. Our
process involves various methods of post harvest vegetable seed
cleaning, chemical coating and multiple types of packaging for
distribution and commercial sale. The candidate will ensure that
quality standards are met to maximize seed health traits,
on-time delivery, operate within budget parameters, create
innovative ideas that maximize productivity and maintain a safe
and healthy work environment.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in
Engineering, Agronomics, Seed Technology, Manufacturing or
related course of study and 5+ years manufacturing operations
and/or site management experience. Proven track record of
consistently demonstrating operational leadership, including a
proven record of achieving improvements in areas such as,
environmental safety and health, quality improvement, process
reliability and people development is required. Understanding of
key drivers for profitability and proven record of driving cost
reduction, process improvement and maximizing efficiencies are
essential. Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
methods, HAZMAT procedures, controls and proper disposal
methods, and annual budget development and performance
management are required. Must have PC proficiency.
